Nissan has a history of more than 70 years from the factory that produced DATSUN (Datsun) minivan in 1933. However, before World War II, Nissan was still in the initial stage of development on the whole, and its development was very slow, both in terms of production scale and product variety.

In December 1933, the Japanese Industrial Corporation and the Toda Castings Company registered and established the "Automobile Manufacturing Stock Company", and Yoshisuke Aikawa became the first president of the company. In May 1934, the "Automobile Manufacturing Corporation" was renamed as "Nissan Motor Corporation". At the same time, the Japanese Industrial Corporation took over all the shares of "Nissan Motor Corporation" held by Toda Castables.

After 1947, Nissan Automobile gradually embarked on the track of rapid development. On the one hand, it introduced and absorbed a large number of automobile technologies from abroad to develop its own products, on the other hand, it continuously exported its own products to overseas markets, and constantly set up factories overseas to achieve localized production. It can be said that the more than 40 years after 1947 were a period of rapid development for Nissan. During this period, Nissan not only became the third largest automobile manufacturer in Japan after Toyota and Honda, but also became one of the top ten automobile manufacturers in the world.

Since the 1950s, Nissan began to seek foreign technology to help improve its product technology. In 1952, Nissan cooperated with Austin in the United Kingdom to develop the "DATSUN" 210 sedan with significantly improved technical level. Once launched, this car won the championship in the competitive Australian Rallying, demonstrating its determination to compete with foreign famous cars. Moreover, because of the success of "DATSUN" 210, it is also from this period that Nissan began to develop the strategy of exporting cars to North America. In 1957, Nissan strictly tested the "DATSUN" 210 in the United States, and developed a 1.2 liter engine product to increase its export competitiveness.

The first car produced by Nissan Motor is actually the product produced by the Osaka factory of the original Toda Castings Automotive Department. It is a small truck named "DATSUN". Since then, Nissan has developed a car named "DATSUN" with its own research and development strength. But before 1936, the annual output of Nissan's "DATSUN" never exceeded 4000 vehicles. In 1934, Nissan started the construction of a new factory in Yokohama, and took the lead in realizing assembly line production among Japanese automobile enterprises. In 1936, the Yokohama factory produced 6163 "DATSUN" vehicles, and the production scale of Nissan exceeded 5000 vehicles for the first time.

After "DATSUN" 210, Nissan has developed a new car product - Bluebird 310 after a lot of work. In 1959, Blue Bird 1000 and Blue Bird 1200 were simultaneously listed in Japan, and there was a sustained strong sales situation. It can be said that detailed market analysis, meticulous technological development, and comprehensive promotional methods have made Bluebird famous overnight. Since the 1960s, Nissan has begun to develop new car products.
