First generation 240Z (S30)
Z means a desperate battle, and it is also Nissan's important battle in the United States. The first generation 240Z is operated by a tail who has no experience in real vehicle design. Its handsome face was famous in 1969. The 2.4-liter Straight-six engine has a maximum power of 151 horsepower, and the four wheel independent suspension ensures the controllability. With its reliable performance, it quickly gained the trust of the US market, selling nearly 45000 240Zs in 1971 alone. Later, the 260Z was limited by emission requirements and its power was reduced to 139 horsepower.
Second generation 280ZX (S130)
In 1979, the GT style 280ZX with a longer wheelbase and wider design was introduced. According to the law, the added protective bars were also the easiest way to distinguish between the 240Z and it. At that time, due to the oil crisis, which required balancing fuel consumption, the maximum power of the 2.8-liter 6-cylinder engine was controlled at 135 horsepower, with automatic and manual transmission options available.
The 280ZX also derived the 280ZX-R version (limited to 1000 units), adding a T-shaped roof and replacing a turbocharged engine. The maximum output of 180 horsepower was comparable to no other car in the US market at that time, except for the Porsche 911SC and 928.
3rd and 4th generation 300ZX (Z31, Z32)
Due to some reasons, Nissan was envious of Mr. K's achievements and ordered him to retire, causing American media to post articles regretting his departure. So in 1984, the third-generation 300ZX changed its previous concept of populism and embarked on the path of luxury sports cars. The fourth generation model Z32 has undergone further improvements in terms of appearance. The 3.0-liter V-shaped six cylinder engine comes in two versions: self priming and turbocharging, with maximum power of 222 horsepower and 300 horsepower, respectively. The suspension has also been replaced with front multi link and rear HICAS intelligent suspension, so we often see its presence on the track.
Fifth generation 350Z (Z33)
In 2002, after the previous generation of models was discontinued for 6 years, then Nissan CEO Ghosn announced the rebirth of the Z-series Nirvana. The FX platform, which is the same as Skyline, has a front, center, and rear wheel drive layout, resulting in a front to rear axle mass ratio of 53:47. The 3.5-liter V-shaped six cylinder engine, codenamed VQ35DE, has a maximum power of 280 horsepower and is equipped with a carbon fiber transmission shaft, resulting in less energy degradation. Whether in GT events or drifting events, you can see the figure of 350Z, and the sales of 200000 yuan in two years are enough to prove that 350Z is quite successful.
Sixth generation 370Z (Z34)
At the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Z series, following the R35, launched the flagship 370Z, which had a more aggressive appearance with lower drag and a shorter wheelbase of 100mm. The 3.7-liter V-six cylinder engine, codenamed VQ37VHR, had a maximum power of 328 horsepower, while the later NISMO version had a power of 344 horsepower.
